It’s likely to be just another guesstimate. Amazon, Play.com and most online shops tend to display estimated release dates as fact. I wouldn’t presume 31 December 2010 to be an official release date.

Thanks. Some of the information dates back to 2007, when Guild Wars 2 was first announced.

Probably not all of what’s been mentioned will make it to the retail product, some of it may even already have been scrapped or altered. But that’s to be expected of a preview this far prior to the game’s launch.

Let’s hope ArenaNet reveals more gameplay-related information soon. It would be nice to know exactly how their plans for world-PvP and altered itemization systems will pan out. Not to mention Guild Wars account linking…
