HDStarcraft and Huskystarcraft, the two most popular StarCraft 2 beta shoutcasters on YouTube, have teamed up for an invite-only StarCraft 2 tournament. Sixteen of the best players in the West are competing for a grand prize of $2000 USD, with every single match featuring 1080p shoutcasts on YouTube. These are best-of-three matches, so each match consists of 2 or 3 games.

Right now two rounds have been played and the field has been whittled down from 16 players to 4 as they gear up for the semi-finals. A lot of interesting games have already been played and you really should head on over to the HDStarcraft and Huskystarcraft YouTube channels for shoutcasts of every match in the tournament thus far.

Even if you don’t quite have the time to watch upwards of 50 games thus far, then at least check out the first game of TheLittleOne vs CauthonLuck in the quarter finals. This two part (part 1, part 2) game really shows how cool Terran vs Terran play can be, even just to watch, in StarCraft 2. It seems a little one-sided at first, but smart play by TheLittleOne turns it into a very exciting TvT match-up.

I’ll have some new StarCraft 2 content up soon, as I’ve gotten in some more play time with the beta recently and July 27th – the confirmed StarCraft 2 release date – is a date you’ll definitely want to mark in your calendar!
