The beta test may have been shut down yesterday, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to talk about with regards to StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty. Most of you probably didn’t get a chance to participate in the StarCraft 2 beta test, so I’ve decided to revive the screenshots galore feature with a large batch of StarCraft 2 beta screenshots.
Most of these screenshots are from replays, because I tend to forget to press the screenshot button during play. StarCraft 2 is very fast paced, just like it’s predecessor, so sneaking in screenshots isn’t the first thing in your mind while playing. I should also note that these are all screenshots of multiplayer gameplay, because singleplayer wasn’t available during beta testing. There are also a few Battle.net snapshots mixed in that demonstrate the custom games feature, amongst others.
I’m also working on getting some vodcasts up on YouTube, but that will likely take until sometime next week. So for now just enjoy the screenshots.

A Terran base in its infancy

This Protoss player is blocking his ramp to stop opponents trying to get inside his base

The Zerg also have bases in StarCraft 2

After playing 5 placement matches you're placed in a league similar to your skill level

The Terran force on the left actually loses this fight due to unupgraded units

Vikings are a great counter for Protoss void rays

Cloaked banshees just took out a pylon that powered half this Protoss base

Completing achievements can unlock new portraits and decals

Medivacs can lift units inside bases from entirely unexpected places

Vikings are capable units in ground mode as well

There were already a lot of custom maps available in the first phase of beta

Securing the gold minerals on a map can be a game changer

This is a very common sight in 4vs4: Protoss going void rays and carriers

This unorthodox wall is almost required in random 4vs4 team matches due to unreliable teammates

The basic marine and marauder Terran units can be absolutely devastating
