The Alliance Tournament is an annual event in EVE Online where 64 teams face off against each other in a strict tournament format dictated by CCP. It’s also accompanied by high definition video footage with commentary for every match in the tournament, which can make for great viewing even if you’re not an active EVE Online player.
Which is why I’ll be linking to some of the more interesting matches on this blog as the tournament progresses. The first round of qualifiers finished on sunday and the next round of qualifiers scheduled for this weekend will decide who goes on to the final rounds scheduled for June 19th and 20th.

First round of qualifiers – day 1
Erebus Alliance vs RED.OVERLORD
One of the most decisive matches thus far with insane firepower coming in from RED.OVERLORD.
Dead Terrorists vs Pandemic Legion
Another very quick and decisive victory with lots of drone action.
Agony Empire vs HYDRA RELOADED
A very intense start with loads of bombing action, but the mop-up action towards the end is a tad dull.

A flashy close-range slugfest.
Dystopia Alliance vs Morsus Mihi
Another fast-paced and close-range slugfest.
First round of qualifiers – day 2
Honourable Templum of Alcedonia vs WE FORM VOLTRON
A huge and expensive flagship enters the arena and decimates all opposition in a short and intense match.
Huzzah Federation vs THE R0NIN
A crazy match with near-flawless tanks, until one breaks and the rest of the team falls shortly after that.
Eve Engineering vs R.A.G.E.
Despite only having 30 minutes to prepare, R.A.G.E. absolutely dominates with a crazy mixed force that demonstrates the worth of frigates.
Pitch Black Legion vs The Kadeshi
The closest match of the qualifiers with two stealth bomber heavy setups
Old Intentions vs Ushra’Kahn
A smaller scale match between two expensive battleship setups with a surprising victor
