A new machinima series demonstrates exactly how far this art of video making in game engines has come. Dragon Age: Warden’s Fall is an episodic story based on the Dragon Age: Origin’s toolset and story. It picks up where the game left off, before the Awakening expansion pack, and follows the Warden Kristoff in his adventures after the Warden’s victory in Origins.

Now the reason I’m linking to this is because the editing is very impressive. The various episodes released thus far are all of a similarly high quality, with solid voice acting, grand environments and great camerawork in a non-comedic setting. The result is a series that looks much more professional than the machinima that came before it, with some scenes actually topping the cutscenes of Dragon Age: Origins itself.

In short: check out the trailer I’ve embedded below and then head on to the episodes I’ve handily linked to. It’s an ongoing series so there are four episodes thus far, but new episodes air weekly on the machinima channel.
