Deals of the Week
- Gratuitous Space Battles Complete on Impulse - Save 70% Weekend Deal – 9,33 EUR
Gratuitous Space Battles is a space strategy game that involves ship assembly and positioning, but no control during battles whatsoever. The singleplayer campaign is essentially a series of escalating challenges, but it’s also possible to create your own scenarios or download other people’s scenarios. This package includes the original game and the first three DLC packs, but not the recently released The Nomads DLC pack.
- Red Faction: Guerrilla on Direct2Drive – Save 88% This Week – 6,- EUR
This is a third person shooter that features full environmental destruction in a futuristic guerrilla war on Mars. Take charge of the local rebels and drive those pesky earthlings back to their planet by demolishing buildings, blowing up bridges and wreaking havoc any way you can. Red Faction: Guerrilla is a third person shooter well worth playing, even if it can get a little repetitive towards the end.
- Serious Sam HD: Gold Edition on Steam – Save 75% Weekend Deal – 10,- EUR
The Serious Sam games offer fast-paced, no-nonsense, all guns blazing action with extensive multiplayer and co-op support. Take on hordes of brainless enemies with your best friends in both the original games and the new HD remakes!
- Assassin’s Creed 2 on Get Games – Save 70% Weekend Deal – 14,99 EUR
A third person action game in which you assume the role of an assassin. This involves a lot of free-running, assassinating, sneaking around and straight up fighting. Assassin’s Creed 2 improves over its predecessor by offering less repetitive gameplay and a new interesting environment, while building on the story of the original.
- Biology Battle on GamersGate – Save 75% Weekend Deal – 2,49 EUR
An arcade space shooter with stellar graphics and a feature set that seems to push it beyond Geometry Wars. Includes 11 versus game modes, co-op, tournament mode and ship upgrades.
- Dark Sector on Green Man Gaming – Save 50% Deal – 6,02 EUR
A decent third-person action game with a cover system and mediocre plot.
- Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse on Telltale Games – Save 43% Launch Deal – 14,96 EUR
The third season of Telltale’s popular adventure game series has finally concluded and it’s the best season yet! This package includes all five episodes of the third season for some hilarious point-and-click adventure gameplay. It’s been reduced in price to celebrate the launch of the final episode.
- Simon the Sorcerer 5: who’d even want contact? on GamersGate – Save 75% Weekend Deal - 4,99 EUR
A new addition to this adventure game franchise that presents much more compelling visuals, but falls short of the humor and puzzles presented in the original games. It’s still been rated fairly favorably, but there are numerous more compelling humoristic adventure games nowadays such as Ceville, Sam & Max and Tales of Monkey Island.
First Person Shooter
- Blacklight: Tango Down on Impulse – Save 75% Weekend Deal – 2,80 EUR
Blacklight: Tango Down is a fairly recent multiplayer-oriented first person shooter that adds in a unique device with its Hyper Reality Visor. This visor allows players to spot threats anywhere on the map, but doesn’t allow them to use their weapons. Apart from this interesting feature it’s mostly just a generic multiplayer shooter with a bad lobby system.
- Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood on Get Games – Save 84% Weekend Deal – 7,99 EUR
A first person shooter in a wild west setting that has two brothers looking for a legendary stash of gold. Including shootouts, horseback riding, bank and train robberies, this is about as wild west as a shooter can get. It’s not quite as good as Red Dead Redemption, but it’s the best you’ll be able to get on the PC.
- NecroVisioN: Lost Company on Green Man Gaming – Save 87% Weekend Deal – 3,62 EUR
The latest title in the NecroVisioN franchise is actually a prequel that puts you in the shoes of a German soldier fighting off hordes of monsters during World War I. A good deal if you’re into arcade first person shooters with hordes of mindless monsters to blast your way through.
- ArcaniA: Gothic 4 on GamersGate / Impulse – Save 15% Pre-order Deal – 42,45 EUR
ArcaniA is the fourth game in the long-standing open-world RPG series Gothic and is looking to be no less engaging than its predecessors. Hopefully it will be released without the slew of bugs that plagued Gothic 3.
- Aztaka on Impulse – Save 50% Weekend Deal – 5,59 EUR
A simple but enjoyable sidescrolling action RPG. At it’s core Aztaka plays like a platformer with character attributes and an inventory. It may be a fairly simplistic game, but it’s quite lengthy and sports great production values with beautifully drawn backgrounds.
- Depths of Peril on Impulse – Save 50% Weekend Deal – 7,46 EUR
Depths of Peril is an action RPG that puts the player in control of a covenant. This is initially just the hero character, but eventually becomes a full party that competes with numerous other computer controlled covenants in the game. Add to this a randomly generated worlds, randomly generated quests and random events and you get a very interesting and lively game world. But it suffers from a lack of multiplayer and sub-par graphics.
- Din’s Curse on Impulse – Save 50% Weekend Deal – 9,33 EUR
This action RPG offers a slightly different take on the genre. The game world is randomly generated, it’s all playable in co-op, quests are time-based and quest progression actually influences the world and its inhabitants. That all may sound good, but its presentation leaves a lot to be desired with severely outdated graphics.
- Dungeon Defenders on GamersGate / Impulse – Save 10% Pre-order Deal – 7,19 EUR
Choose a class, create a character and team up with three friends to defend your dungeon from waves of monsters! Add in a wide variety of towers, pets, loot, monsters, achievements, game modes and a storydriven campaign and you have Dungeon Defenders’ unique take on the tower defense genre. These digital pre-orders come with an exclusive familiar depending on the digital distribution service (Direct2Drive, GamersGate, Impulse or Steam).
- Star Wolves 3: Civil War on GamersGate – Save 70% Weekend Deal - 7,48 EUR
Star Wolves 3 is a space RPG that puts you in charge of a small band of mercenaries in a large, freely explorable, galaxy. It offers an excellent mixture of RPG and RTS gameplay that can quickly hook you despite the horrendous voiceovers. It’s also DRM free.
- Blood Bowl: Dark Elves Edition on Impulse – Save 50% Weekend Deal – 9,99 EUR
A mixture of Warhammer and American Football produces a surprisingly fun, but complex, strategy game. It has two game modes with a real-time strategy variant for fast-paced, bloody, action and a turn-based strategy variant that faithfully recreates the board game.
- Darwinia on Green Man Gaming – Save 70% Deal – 2,16 EUR
A retro-themed indie real-time strategy game where you have to save the Darwinians from extinction as a computer virus has infiltrated their world. It only features singleplayer, but is actually quite fun to play.

A grand strategy game that lets you lead a nation from the 15th to 19th century. Along with the standard singleplayer comes a co-op multiplayer component.

- UFO: Afterlight on Green Man Gaming – Save 60% Weekend Deal - 7,22 EUR
Afterlight places the focus on a small human colony on Mars that has to thrive in the face of constant alien invasions. It’s a much better game than Aftershock and a solid mixture of global strategy and small-scale tactical combat.
- World War 2: Time of Wrath on GamersGate – Save 75% Deal – 6,74 EUR
A decent turn-based grand strategy game set in World War 2.

Platform and Puzzle Games
- Trine on Green Man Gaming – Save 45% Deal – 11,20 EUR
