GameDrone covers the wondrous world of PC gaming from the perspective of a veteran PC gamer. Rather than merely being a platform for reporting gaming news and content which you can find on any other gaming site, GameDrone will provide in-depth articles and original content exclusively related to PC gaming. Instead of going with the flow and providing ordinary content you can find anywhere else, we will utilize a more magazine-like approach with unique content ranging from articles to guides, impressions, rants and reviews.

We intend to provide you with only the best and most accurate of PC gaming information on mainstream and obscure games alike. GameDrone posts will provide useful information, grounds for debate, or simply an entertaining read – all packaged in an easy-to-read format. On GameDrone every post is geared towards informing and entertaining whoever decides to visit – and comments are always welcome.

The Staff

There are currently 2 people working on this blog, of which one actively posts new content.

You can find out more about this illustrious duo below.

Droniac

I’m a 21 year old Dutch gamer and aspiring writer. I’m a fairly hardcore PC gamer and have been so for quite some time. I like playing PC games, I love playing PC games – and while I like some console games too, it’s just never quite matched up to the PC gaming experience for me.

A couple of years ago I discovered the incredible world of blogging. I’d often helped people set up applications or given them advice on games – and the prospect of reaching more of them in a more managable approach seemed like an interesting prospect. So i started a personal blog, which eventually grew into a gaming focused entity. This blog was eventually renamed GameDrone out of nothing but suitability with my nickname (which was based on drones in the first place).

You can find out more about my gaming history, favorite games and current computer specifications over here.

If you’d like to know what I’m currently playing, then you should check out my Xfire profile.

Martijn397

Martijn397 is a Dutch gamer and webdesigner. He generally plays PC games, but likes consoles too.

Nowadays you can usually find him playing Burnout Paradise on the PC, but he’s been looking forward to getting it on with some multiplayer matches in Dawn of War 2 as well.

He provides the layout and other visual niceties to GameDrone.

What sets us apart

GameDrone is built upon original content. It’s not another gaming news blog, or another console-oriented gaming website.

Instead GameDrone offers a wealth of PC gaming information.

  • Articles that are entertaining, interesting and useful.
  • Guides to gaming applications, websites and anything related to gaming.
  • Tips and strategies for improving your play.
  • Reviews for both wellknown and lesser known games. As well as gaming applications and digital download platforms.
  • Re-reviews of games after the fact. With patches and DLC games continue to evolve, so why shouldn’t reviews do the same?
  • Unique perspectives on popular – and unpopular – topics.
  • Join Droniac on Twitter to keep up-to-date with the most interesting developments in PC gaming as they occur.

And of course much, much more.

In a sense, GameDrone will be your prime source for anything PC gaming. With accurate, timely and useful information.

A Quick Retrospective

The GameDrone blog has been around for a while, but not always in it’s current form. The name has been used for a number of blogs, which passed away over time. The current incarnation of GameDrone is quite different from any that has come before it, but below is a quick overview of the earlier versions of this gaming blog.

  • The first time the name GameDrone was given to a blog was on April 11th 2006. This was a blog on the popular Blogger service. It offered fairly standard PC gaming news & information at breakneck pace.
  • On January 24th 2007, the GameDrone blog transferred over to the new Blogger service and gained a slightly different focus. More in-depth news items and some unique content were rewarded with greater visitor counts.
  • Later that year, on September 4th 2007, a new WordPress-built GameDrone went live on this domain. This blog focused even more on original content and saw initial success. However it was launched during a difficult time personally – and eventually faded away midway into the year 2008 as it received less and less new content each month.
  • The GameDrone blog was completely re-envisioned and relaunched on 21 February 2009. With a new, clearer, writing focus and a more stable content stream – the new GameDrone blog is now set to take the interweb by storm and redefine PC gaming coverage as you know it.
